The first thing you should master is control of the camera. The camera may be rotated around your ship by holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse. The camera zoom may also be controlled by holding down both mouse buttons and pushing forward or backward on the mouse, or using the mouse wheel. This enables the camera to be positioned to your liking.
Space is vast. Each solar system contains a myriad of space stations, asteroid fields, planets, and moons, as well as other players and even hostile NPC pirates. As you pan the camera around, you will notice small white squares, upside-down triangles, pluses, brackets, and one or more small half-circles with a > in them. Each of those symbols represents something. By positioning your cursor over each symbol, text will fade into view with a further designation of what the object is.
Now that you are familiar with controlling your camera and the symbols around you in space, let’s go over your interface and movement.
