Agent missions

The leaders of the various empires may call the shots, but it is the numerous factions and corporations that are the lifeblood of EVE. Getting your foot in the door with a variety of agents can lead to a long and properous career, bringing you wealth, goods and new technology, so get acquainted quickly with your starting agent. As you gain the trust of corporation representatives higher on the ladder, you will gain new contacts and the missions will increase in both difficulty and rewards.

In the system where you first enter the world of EVE, dock at the local station and click on the "Agents" tab in the Station interface, then RIGHT-CLICK on the agent’s portrait and select "Talk To Agent" to strike up a conversation.

You will be offered a mission. You now have 24 hours to accept the assignment. If you decline or fail to respond, your standing with the agent and his corporation will lower slightly. However, should you accept the mission and fail, your standing will fall significantly. It is best to plan ahead and give yourself ample time to get your assignment and complete it to avoid the repercussions of failure.

When given a combat combat mission, a bookmark will be placed in your "People and Places" contacts screen under the "Places" tab. You can set this as your destination by RIGHT-CLICKING. Trade missions require you to ferry goods between two stations. For detailed mission information, click on the flashing "Journal" icon in the NeoCom and RIGHT-CLICK on the "Active" mission. Look to see if a time bonus is offered, giving you an incentive to act quickly to reap bonus rewards for promptly completing the mission.

Once you have fulfilled the mission objectives, you need to tell your agent. You do not have to be in the agent’s home station to do this. Select the "People & Places" icon, click on the "Agents" tab, RIGHT-CLICK on the agent's portrait and select "Talk to".
